I'll share my colleagues response when I brought him there today to have their chicken finger garbage plate: "A traditional garbage plate is good because it combines some mediocre things like flavorless fries and run of the mill burgers and mixes them together to form a delicious meal...but Sal's chicken plate takes amazing things like the flavorful potato wedges and perfectly crisp & juicy chicken tenders and mixes them together for a whole other level of Rochester plate. More good things: They're legit...been there since the 70s, and talk about personable service...heck, the owner Jimmy waited on us and send all 3 of us away with a bottle of sauce. Been there 3 times in the last few weeks, and brought some home for my wife. Good thing they are next to Spunk Fitness :)

Wings from Sals are a delicious childhood memory for me. My dad took me there every time we visited Rochester. So when I was there last week by myself I still had to go. Wings were outstanding as usual, as well as the macaroni salad. Only issue was the service, for being a Sunday night they only had one cook and one person behind the counter. I think they should definitely up their staff to fit the demand of their chicken. Just a thought. Glad their wings have stayed the same over the years

Classic wing spot. In my household, Sal's contended with Country Sweet. It is actually one of my family favs and we have been supporting this business for over twenty-five years. Everyone loves their wings! Haven't heard any complaints about Sal's yet and my family has been dining her for over 25 years.

Healthy? No. Delicious? Yes. I've been a Sal's devotee for over 20 yrs and the formula has remained the same: fry 1/2 a chicken until juicy and the bones are edible, put it over a couple slices white bread and drown it with that awesome sauce. Heaven (or at least a quicker way to get there). An American original.

The best chicken wings on earth and I mean it! I have eaten chicken wings in nearly every state in the union plus 10 countries around the world and no place....no place even comes close to the awesomeness of Sals! The wings are big, crispy, juicy and flavorful. The dipping sauces are yummilicous. Oh dear, I'm drooling just thinking about it. This location is clean and very spartan. Every time I visit Rochester, I always make sure I make a run for Sals! Keep up the great work!

Fantastic crispiness to everything! I had their chicken finger garbage plate, and the chicken and fries were crispy - even under a layer of their delicious sweet sauce and meat sauce. If you have not been there, make it a priority!

Got Sal's to go and I am a convert. Huge, meaty, crispy wings with a spicy honey-mustard sauce. The seasoned potato wedges were less seasoned than I expected, but were also very good. I'd definitely get take out again. The restaurant is nothing for ambiance.

Can never go wrong with this place. Food is always fresh. Cooked to order. Prices are high, but food is worth it.

Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner! Fried chicken dinner was great. Potato Wedges and Macaroni Salad. If you like sweet and spicy get the sassy sauce. I recommend if this is the dinner you crave. Hit the spot.
